Graduate in Finance role at BB IB
Hi guys, I'm in a bit of a confusing situation. Due to unforeseen circumstances (and my stupidity), I have found myself on a 3-year finance and treasury graduate scheme at a large BB bank.
I get 3 rotations during the scheme and a choice of pursuing a CFA, CIMA or ACA qualification. My dream job is portfolio management and the CFA seems like the most interesting qualification but I'm also well aware that my odds of transferring to the investment divisions are slim.
I'm not sure whether it would be optimal to pursue a CFA in the hopes of breaking through to the investment side after my graduate scheme or accept fate and go for ACA. It seems like the ACA has a wider range of exit opps as most senior roles in finance and treasury require an ACA and not a CFA. I feel like the CFA will hinder my progression if I'm unable to break out and have to stay in finance (i don't hate finance - just not my passion).
Open to any recommendations with regards to what qualification to choose, perhaps what team to get into to maximise my chances of moving if I pick CFA and any other tips.
Any one?
