Have to send model test from work email - what's the risk?
Long story short I have a model test this week and my PC is not working. My only option is to do the test on my work machine. My bank blocks access to outside email on company PCs, so I will have to send the test back to the recruiter from my work email.
How bad of an idea is this? I know banks monitor emails and I've heard of people who got flagged by compliance for sending files to seniors' or clients' personal emails. But realistically can't imagine that banks would flag outgoing emails to recruiters.
Sounds like you don't have a choice from the way you phrase it
Buy a new laptop, do the test, return the laptop
Go do the test at the library. Have you ever heard of a library?
Borrow a friend's laptop
^this seems like the most simple solution.
i did the same. got flagged and had to sit down with my boss to explain why i was sending models to ouside emails.
can you not just email it to your personal email and then copy the attachment into a new email using your phone?
Not if youre using BB work or a similar app
A couple of ANLs asked me the question before and my answer was always the same: I wouldn't risk it, to be honest.
At the same time, I also don't understand the fucking drama: just buy a cheap windows machine for $300 from Amazon and send it back afterwards.
You might even think of keeping it for Netflix!
Yeah, I ended up just buying a cheap laptop. At the end of the day it didn't make sense to jeopardize my job over a few hundred $. Also doesn't hurt to have a backup laptop just in case.
You would have to be absolutely insane to do this. Not only is there a risk you get flagged by compliance for sending models outside the firm, but it's then going to come out that you were doing it to try to get another job elsewhere. Just buy a crappy $300 laptop and do the test there as someone said.
go to target or walmart and buy a $500 laptop. Get the warranty or whatever. Return it after 2-3 days. Way better idea than getting canned
