I think all of these turned up something on google (which isn't surprising) - which of these are you certain are "big deals"? thanks for the help.
metalmark is MS's former PE arm...
Towerbrook is Soros's PE arm I think. It may have spun off though, I'm not sure.
Silverpoint is a debt based hedge fund that's quite good. Aurora Capital is a pretty decent smaller PE fund based out of LA.
should i look for funds that run >1 billion $, as a sign of legitimacy?
what are you trying to do? are you a college student / in ib looking for first ft, transfer, internship?
moore capital is a huge hedge fund, one of the biggest/best, it's louis bacon's company.
However, i'm sure you won't even find some on google, given how secretive most professional investment pools are.
Metalmark is a sizable PE shop, one of their focus is energy infrastructure. CIT is a huge lender
