Hello. Im going to college soon and am looking to get my foot in the door with IB

I'll be applying to college soon and am currently studying for SAT. So far I get 1370 on practice tests which I hear is quite good. I'm sure I can push that score up to over 1400 at least in the coming months. I have always been interested in finance and investing but knew nothing about how to succeed in the field. I thought that my relation to investing would be to turn my $200 into millions going all in on options or crypto nonsense.

Unfortunately for me so far I have not taken High school as seriously as I should have. I have just a 3.2 GPA due to lack of studying. I'm doing my best to turn it around from here but even in the best case, my grades will not be a boon for a job opportunity.

If I end up at a pretty average unknown college will that make an IB job possible? If I go into finance and don't make it to wall street will I be making much money and will I have upward mobility to other forms from a shit one? Lastly, will anyone at all higher a finance major from a mediocre college?

Note: I live in New York so in terms of proximity I have an advantage.

Thanks for all replies, sorry for such a long post.
