Hello other Accountants and Wealth Managers

Hello,

I always go by the online name of Accrual, but otherwise my name is Alex. To give a somewhat brief description below I will tell about who I am and where I am planning to go, essentially my ten year plan.

Accrual has grown up living in a family involved in financial advising. Last summer we (4 of us) all worked in the same office including another associate. Working in the same office for my father I have learned more about investing than I could anywhere else (Traditional transaction based investing).

Our family finally after 30+ years finally left EDJ and now works for Stifel Nicholas. Word of advice for any professional, "Your clients best interest comes first, then your families, and then your firm." Treat your clients right and the will follow you because they know that their best interest comes first. Listen to the older veterans, for they will mostly speak the truth.

Accrual currently interns with SS&C as a fund-accountant for multiple hedge funds based in Toronto, Canada while also attending school full time. Accrual plans to get the CPA within the year and secure a job with a public accounting firm in the "Wealth Management" or "Banking and Capital Market." After securing the CPA designation I also plan to attain the CFA as well as a MBA from a top tier school preferably Northwestern. I will re-evaluate my potential paths and change the plan as needed of course, but CPA and CFA are going to be done.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.

P.S. I am quite interested to discuss where Hedge Funds and Private Equity are headed, because I see a light coming down the tunnel.
