Help for a Non-Target Student
I am a senior at a non-target school with majors in investment Management Finance and Business Economics. I am very interesting in moving in to the equity research of fixed-income areas upon graduation. I fell that I have good experience through my internships, my current one being at a well know local investment management firm doing research, but not at the caliber of what an equity research analyst would do, and my previous position was in financial planning with a large national company. Throughout my undergrad career, I have maintained fairly good grades, 3.6 and 3.7 respectively in my majors, but I feel that the classwork fails me we compared to a target school. I am debating starting an online program through Wharton for investment and business analysis and modeling to try and supplement this short fall. Also, I am taking the SIE exam in August, and am also slated to take the CFA level 1 exam in the winter through a scholarship program at my university.
Any help with regards to where and when to apply, advice, and constructive criticism would be helpful. Thanks!
