Help! Trying to Get an Analyst Position

Here is my story. I graduated college in 2006 with a construction management degree and went to work for a commercial construction company. I was there about a year before being deployed to Iraq for a year (I was in the Army Reserve). I returned home and continued to work there for about 6 months until I took a job working in the engineering department of an electrical utility company. I worked there the past three years while going to school at night to get a MBA concentrating in finance/real estate.

I really want to get into commercial real estate. I know I have little actual work experience in the field, so what do I need to do to get one of these positions? Will I not be considered because I don't have any finance/real estate work experience?

I did recently obtain my residential real estate license and I am considering getting the ARGUS certification. I also own a few investment properties (rental houses) if that matters at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Do a search (top right) for literature and online resources so you can speak toward what you would like to do in the industry. It's tough to network when you can't speak the lingo or answer specifically what you're interested in.

Two of my favorite books: Real Estate Finance and Investments : Brueggeman/Fisher (technical) The Real Estate Game : Poorvu (overview, anecdotal)
