I'm currently going into my 2nd year studying Mathematics (BSc) at the University of Nottingham, I've recently taken an interest in Investment Banking and I'm wondering, what would be the best way to go about giving myself the best chance to secure an internship as a summer analyst? Any recommendations for textbooks, online courses and general advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated. It should be noted that for a lot of topics in IB my understanding is poor/foundation level, so I'm looking for textbooks that are on the more accessible side.

Hi Josh, I would say the key things you need at this stage would be: An interest in finance and a way to link it to your course/uni. This means taking financy modules if they're offered and joining uni societies Understand what bank types you want to go for, if you have an industry preference and check out those names. Googling will help you find plenty of names. Read up on what they do and start networking (coffee chats, uni events etc) If possible apply for spring weeks. Not sure if you can do them as a 2nd or 3rd year student but they certainly help if you have no previous experience in IB
