Hot lead going cold?
Had an informational interview at a boutique two weeks ago and was told to "Call" the guy back (not email) in a few days. Anyway so a few days went by I call and I can't get a hold of him, try again the following day same story, only this time I also e-mail him at the end of the day; however, Havn't heard back from him at all and 2 weeks have now gone by.
I was wondering what would you guys do in this situation. safe to say the leads dead? I'm thinking about e-mailing someone in another department in attempts to getting looked at again or am I simply being too pushy?
Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm in a similiar situation and need help tying my shoelaces.
I emailed an alum of my school asking a few questions and attached a resume. He replied saying that he would forward my info to his colleague who may have a position for me and he'll follow up with me "shortly". Shortly usually means the next day or the day after so I followed up with him 3 days later in which he replied saying that "I'm traveling at the moment and don't know John Doe's schedule. Please be patient". It's now been over 1 week since this email exchange. Should I follow up with an email or take a more direct approach and call him up. I don't want to piss him off because the "Please be patient." line kinda sounded like he was annoyed with me.
Give him a couple more days (3 or 4) and then call or email, whatever you feel more comfortable with. Sometimes, calling can be really nerve wrecking so think it through before you pull the trigger on this follow up
@wallstreetballa i'd say call him again. after all, it's been two weeks
3 days was to soon of a follow up. you've got to follow up after a week my man. you are the last thing on his mind.
Just wanted to say one more thing... after the meeting I had with the gentlemen from the boutique I didn't send him a "thank you e-mail" because it wasn't really an interview rather a meeting from all the time i spent chasing this guy trying to get a meeting with him.
you boys think that was fine or maybe i should of fired off a thank you e-mail. I duno just trying to read the situation a little better.
But you guys are defiantly right, I should call him up again.
Anybody lol!?!? im aching for some serious advice gents. thinking about picking up the phone tomorow and pulling the trigger, thoughts?
How long has it been since the last time you spoke/corresponded with him again?
