How does pay work in commodity trading/ physical commodity trading?
What are the average base salaries for a trader? How are bonuses calculated? (Vitol, Trafigura, Guvnor, mercuria, ect.)

I am a physical trader with a prop book. My comp is based on PnL w/ a minimum draw per month.
Hope this helps.
wdym by minimum draw? also thanks for the repose, what type of commodities do you trade?
The way that my compensation works, and I'm pretty certain this is unique to my firm, is that it I am compensated pased on a percentage of book value. Book value is equal to performance in your trading efforts and obviously you can take a profit or a loss. Because of this potential to take a loss there is a floor to which you can draw a salary from each month to get by if you go negative. However, if you do go negative and take the draw you need to pay it back with future earnings.
Commodity trading compensation is not the steadiest just considering the fact that you eat what you kill. There's not getting through it by riding on the coat tails of others.
Aka how much money you can lose
