How long is GS hirevue?
Hey guys, would love to get a pulse on this! Just want a benchmark so I don’t keep waffling on.
Also, any idea on what question GS hirevue asks?
Thanks

If it goes the same as last year (and if you're applying for an IB summer analyst position), they ask many multi-step questions and you have 2 minutes max to answer. If you can answer in a minute or less then this is typically seen favorably because you come off as concise, put together, and more interesting.
A minute or less damn... how many questions?
any questions you think I could practice? really not sure what all to keep at forefront of mind when doing all this stuff
Guide to Hirevues | Wall Street Oasis
I posted this last year if you want to check it out. Glad to answer any specific questions you have about the post. I'd recommend preparing in the way I mentioned, then opening a list of behaviorals (you can google lists of questions like these) and recording yourself while answering them.
As for what to keep at the forefront of your mind, I'd recommend 1. networking, 2. preparing to answer behaviorals, and 3. learning the technicals, in that order.
Technicals are a checklist item - you answer them well then you don't disqualify yourself, but then you have to win the offer by coming across as personable in any interviews you have (including hirevues). Seek to understand the technicals so you can answer anything, then crush the behaviorals by practicing even more.
Thanks! do you have an example of the questions GS asks?
No, unfortunately I don't remember the questions I was asked. If you scan the other threads from last year (titled something like GS IB SA 2020, they have 5+ pages) then you can find the exact questions that were asked last year.
