20-30 minimum. Don’t ask general Qs. That’s what WSO is for. Be specific, be attentive, kiss some ass and smell the monkey shit. Close the deal and ask for some leads. Follow up with a sincere “thank you” email and wish them well in whatever endeavors they’ve shared with you. Best of luck.

 

Thank you. One remaining question: I previously ask them whether they could introduce me to some of their connections for phone chats at the end of the calls. Although they generally agreed but mostly nothing setting up after my thankyou notes. Whether you think I should put this in thankyou notes instead? e.g. Thankyou balabalabala ,whether you can introduce me to some of your colleagues to connect......

 

Try again, 3 times max. Bankers are busy, it's easy to get lost in the sauce, especially "spam". So follow up again in email with a topic that was discussed then ask for the leads. And buddy btw, I'm in the same boat as you. Best of luck!

 

I’m actually going to go again the popular opinion here. I think the average informational chat should be around 15 minutes. If it naturally goes to 30 minutes because you’ve found a common interest to talk about, then that’s fine. Otherwise, it’s fine to end it around the 15 to 20 minute mark.

Entire interviews are done in 30 minutes. I can’t even talk to my buddies on the phone for a full 30 minutes straight. If you’re going over 20 to 25 minutes, you might just be asking too many random questions for that one meeting.

 

Mine was almost always 25-30, rarely 40. Depends on your questions and I tend to ask similar and structured questions
