How to ask for more time on offer?
I just got an offer from a BB investment bank, but I still have a couple super days left. How should I go about asking for more time? Is it too risky in this environment? For bottom tier to middle tier bulge, is there that much of a difference (assuming I get top group in first and bottom group in second)?
“Can I have more time please?”
But seriously, asking for more time means “I want to see if I’ll get this better offer, otherwise I’ll take your one”. If you asked me for extra time for an offer, I’d tell you to fuck off and find someone else.
Just take the offer dude.
I only know of one person that was able to do this, and he framed it as he needed more time to talk to some of his mentors given the magnitude of the decision. I think the bank gave him like 2 or 3 extra days, so probably not enough to change much. You’d probably have better luck trying to accelerate your other processes.
