how to explain why I haven't done the certification?

Is it possible to break into AM/IM without any CFA levels completed? Can someone break in and talk about being interested in this industry without any CFA level completed? How can I best explain this? I have my reasons but any advice would be great.

My immediate goal once I get in is to clear CFA levels (hopefully get sponsored as well), but I'm trying to break in first using my related experience.

To clarify, I'm an experienced candidate not from IM/AM, but something related and I'm trying to break in. These are junior level positions but it seems weird to say that I want to do this but haven't done any CFA levels... any tips to counter that?

Honestly, why haven't you taken it?

I decided to go for "rebranding" by going to a nearby grad school part-time for my master's. I don't have any regrets of doing this because it has been helping me land interviews but it took 2 years of my life with only short summer breaks. After I got done with my master's, I worked somewhere until I realized which path I wanted to go and I was faced with the MBA vs CFA question. I'm looking to do both actually but I focused on the GMAT up to this point due to my age and so that I can apply to some schools in case things fail. My next immediate goal is the CFA but I'm hoping to break in sooner than later. I can get the interviews but can't seal the deal.
