How to frame 3 week investment banking internship on resume
This past summer, I did an unpaid internship at a no-name boutique investment bank for 3 weeks. I learned a lot and was given a lot of responsibility. I did stuff that definitely helped the 2 other ppl at the bank with the deal. I have a lot of information I can write (I worked on about 3-4 deals while I was there). How much should I write? Also, should I frame it as Investment Banking Summer Analyst or Investment Banking Intern?
I left after 3 weeks because they had another intern coming in and I asked them if I could work there till he did. I'm now interning in Institutional Equity Sales so I also have stuff to write down for that. However, my goal next summer is to land an IB SA internship at a BB or EB.
Bump, also interested. If given a lot of responsibility and you summarise it well, will future interviewers doubt you?
Even with a 3 month paid internship, you shouldn't come try to come across like you were a godsend to the firm. Emphasize what you learned more so than how much you helped the firm.
So something standard like "performed due diligence on a $XXXmm merger... focused on xyz... edited components of final pitch book" is more or less fine?
I'm not a banker but that seems fine to me as long as it's truthful.
