How to leverage a summer internship offer?
Hi. Firstly, I feel incredibly blessed to even have an offer right now and also I'm aware this has been posted a million times already, but I haven't really come across much substantial information regarding the topic for summer internships.
I recently got an exploding diversity offer for a BB and I've networked with a few people at places like JPM/MS/GS. I was wondering how I could leverage my offer (and I completely undestand if that's not possible - I just want to give it a try though just bc I don't want to leave any stone unturned). I was wondering how I should proceed with this, and if i should include the name of the firm I got an offer from in my email to the person in charge of recruiting that I'm in touch with. Also, how do I phrase the email in general lol?
Thank you all :)
Hi ____
I just received an offer from "------" for their "-------" group. After speaking with "-------" I am really excited about your group and just wanted to see if there was anyway I could be fully evaluated before my "-------" offer explodes.
Thank you!! You think mentioning the name of the firm won't put me in any disadvantage (Idk i've read someone saying that they could reach out to the firm you got an offer from and then retract their offer, leaving you with zero lol)?
I think they will likely ask anyways, I was always told it should be fine, especially if the bank whos offer you are shopping is reputable. Banks understand that you might be shopping their offer, which is why they'll usually give you like a week or two to accept.
No, that's only if you're reneging. Otherwise, it's fine to tell others that you have an offer.
