Accepting Offer

I recently accepted an offer for FT. I was wondering if it would be nice to email my interviewers (I got the offer before I could send thank you notes) and a couple other people I met during the recruitment process thank you notes and let them know I accepted the offer. Just wanted to check if this is standard. Thanks!

So you signed for a SA but are worried if your behaviour will undermine the chances for FT ? I simply don't see your problem. Some MDs are just friendly and outgoing...just assume its possible. You should be fine as long as you keep at least a certain level of professionalism here which I think you maintained.

make sure this dude doesn't wanna get into your pants first. but then sure ask him questions about the market or his opinion on stuff. some people are just bored or friendly

Hah, At Citi, the MD who interviewed me and then extended me a SA offer told me the same thing. That he "pushed hard" for me.. blah blah.. I then proceeded to badger him weekly with questions. He was enthusiastic to start with then his replies became more and more erratic and then he just stopped replying to my mails. I didn't see/meet him at all during the SA stint.

Point: They say just for the heck of it, to keep in touch and ask questions, just don't go overboard with it like I did. Maybe only 1-2 mails till you start the SA. Also, is he the MD of your allocated desk or the head of FI S&T. There are multiple FI S&T MDs, depending on team.

That sounds good, I'll probably email him to ask how I can prepare for the internship, maybe what to read, and etc

Being overly professional/rigid with this guy sounds like a bad idea, obviously you guys had a connection and he is being pally with you. You're much better off being friends with an MD than being just another cog in the machine.
