Illiquid Portfolio Valuation -> ER?

Currently a year out of college and working within an internal portfolio valuations group for one of the largest PE/HF's in the world, valuing their illiquid portfolio companies/securities (using DCF, Market Multiples, Transactions, Black Scholes, & CSE). With that being said, I have recently been putting a lot of time into considering a pivot into ER, as I believe the work is incredibly tangential and would be able to make a meaningful impact rather quickly. I interned within an MBB's Global Markets program.

I wanted to see if anyone might have any insight into a pivot comparable to this or had any advice as I embark on this nearly impossible mission.

Thank you!
