Info. on fund of PE funds port. construction analyst job
So I have an interview coming up for a portfolio construction analyst position at a large PE FoF (10B+). I looked the company and FoF information up here, but the information is generally pretty dated, and not generally related specifically to portfolio construction.
If anyone could give insights on this sort of a role, and other information regarding exit opps, pay etc., it would be appreciated. I would like to open a business of my own on the side, so if this if a 70 or less hour a week position, that would be much more of a possibility. The thing is that I am also interviewing with I banks now, and I am not sure if taking this job (if I am to be given an offer) would pigeon hole me.
Ideally I would like to transition in to a HF after two years, and it is a possibility that I would take the CFA prior to that. I am also considering trying for a PE firm, but a HF would be preferable - so that I would have time outside of work to address the businesses I start on the side.
Again, advise is appreciated, and SB's will be given for helpful answers.
