Internship advice - received an offer

I am a sophomore at a non/semi target. Last summer I landed a boutique SA position, and for this upcoming summer I want to land a more S&T role. If I can't land an S&T role I want to take a stab at PWM (better work life balance than IB).

The thing is if I decide to go back to IB for next summer do you think going from IB to PWM is bad? As in maybe they thought I couldn't secure anything this summer? Even though I did (in a way)

opinions?

It could appear that way, however you might be able to play it off as you wanting to try a different opportunity or something of that sort...but its usually the otherway around...PWM to IB. I would try to get into either S&T or IB...maybe some other area besides PWM.

Yeah play it off . Say I wanted to do PWM but after working in PWM i feel it is not the right career path for me. btw you can always spin PWM for S&T

this is what I am thinking/probably will end up doing. I want to try something else during the summer, and don't want to just straight shoot on IB when I will probably want to end up doing something else anyway
