Introduction -- Top-tier JD/MBA student looking to break into private equity
A little bit about my background:
-Currently pursuing a JD/MBA at top-tier school on the coast
-Prior WE = F500 M&A deal team focused on strategy (pre-deal) and operations (post-deal)
-No previous IB/PE experience
-Handful of finance-related internships
-Strong quant background
Why I joined WSO:
-Ultimately, I'm hoping to work on restructurings/turnarounds for a PE firm after I graduate.
-I know I face an uphill battle trying to break into PE out of grad school with no prior banking experience, but I'm trying to gain as much understanding and insight as possible as it relates to the industry, hiring practices, etc. WSO is just one source of data in my search for information, but reading past forums has been quite helpful thus far.
-In return, even though I don't have full-time WE in banking, I'm hopeful that I can provide insight to anybody on here who may be interested in pursuing a JD/MBA.
