Investment Banks still recruiting for analysts??/

Monkeys,

I've been thus far unsuccessful getting interviews for IB. Since we're already past the time when a majority of banks are filling their classes I was wondering what banks are still looking for analysts or typically recruit later in the year.

I've been working FT for one year with an angel investor working on agriculture investments - but looking for something with more structure and a better exit ops. I'm from a non-target, but have a pretty solid background IMO. I've been targeting MM IB and boutiques. FYI I'm in the midwest looking to get out of the area.

Thanks for everyone's input.

heister is right; banks that have formal recruiting programs have filled up their FT classes, but true boutiques will hire year round, on an as-needed basis. That being said, in the past, I've seen guys already out in the workforce show up to my school's info sessions and introduce themselves to try and get a foot in the door. I don't know how successful they have been, though I imagine the path must be somewhat difficult. Good luck and keep going at it.

Thanks guys, any suggestions on where to look? I'm talking with Lazard MM and Lincoln Int'l - they both have filled their positions for the year. Should I be looking at the smaller firms? What about a IB in Des Moines with 4 employees? How is this experience viewed at B-school and exit ops? thanks

When I was talking about smaller firms the 4 and 5 person shops is what I was talking about. Those dont carry as much weight on a bschool app. However, in the past 4 or 5 years or so it seems like IB is carrying less weight on bschool apps in general.
