I look at Iron Mtn as effectively two companies, a records management (store boxes of phsyical records) and a data center reit. The records management side of things is boring, but a cash cow. The data center space is intriguing. They already manage the phsyical records for so many of the biggest/best companies so it is a natural path of growth. The one thing that concerns me from what I have heard from people in the data center world is that because they are starting as somewhat of an outsider, they end up getting second tier sites to build their new facilities. Also, i haven't checked in a while but i think their cost of capital is higher than the name brand data center reits. Overall though, if its in the data center side of the business it could be an interesting role.
