Had a first round phone interview with an IB for a 2019 SA job, and after correctly answering some technical questions it was decided that we would check back in at the end of the summer and I would let them know where I was in my recruiting process, and if I was still interested I could get a superday.
I don't live in the same city as this firm's headquarters, but I'll happen to be that city in a few weeks just by coincidence.
Is it acceptable to reach out and ask for an interview while I'm there anyways? What would be the best way to phrase that? I'm still recruiting with other firms, but in my mind, if they were willing to give me a superday later in the summer, would it be okay to just speed up the process and do it now, if I happen to be there anyway?
Thanks monkeys

You move at their pace, not the other way around.
I think if you've connected with someone at the bank it's okay to say "I'm in town, would you like to grab a coffee?"
Not an interview but definitely will make you a little more important
I think it definitely is. Reach out and mention that you are extremely interested in their bank and would love to talk more about the position. It saves them time and money.
This is what I was thinking...thanks
It'd be one thing if you just had a first round and it went really well and they had already indicated to you that they wanted to get you in for an in-person sometime soon. However for this I'd not recommend it.
Reach out to one of the people you met and say that you're following up on the previous discussions and that you'll be in town on dates x-y and that you'd be interested in meeting with them to hear more about their experience at the firm at a time that works for them if they are available.
