Is this a joke?

So I recently came across a profile of this Incoming Business Analyst at Mckinsey. I clicked and looked at his profile. Turns out he is at Rutgers, has decent GPA(3.7), no relevant internship.and claims that "he learned what consulting is from consultants." Someone please help me make sense of this. Since when Mckinsey started recruiting from low tier state schools with virtually no qualifications or experience, healthcare major(if that is even a thing). I am not saying that Rutgers is bad, on the contrary, IK that there are great and really smart people from Rutgers in Banking but Mckinsey seems to have strict GPA cutoff and target school. Someone who has similar GPA with way more Consulting and Banking experience from HYP, I am just having hard time making sense of this crap.
