Hey guys, I am currently at a small MM, and I was originally very happy to get the job and thought I would truly enjoy the small office life (less than 8 bankers), but I am not a fan anymore. When I first started, the head banker lead me to believe I would be involved in plenty of both business development (pitching) and the, but after four months, I have realized he is a micro manager and we barely pitch (he is super picky on we who pitch to), which leads to me not having much work I can do. Fortunately, we are on a live deal (under $2mil ebitda), but besides this deal (which was a repeat client), I don't see myself staying at this firm. I want to stay busy and learn as much as possible early in my career, and I do not mind heavy hours.
I realize I may have to "start over" in an an analyst program, but I would much rather do that than stay in my current role. Does anyone at a bigger MM orknow of an opening within their group or another for an entry level/ 1st year analyst role? I am not picky on location, though I would prefer NYC, SF, LA, Atlanta, or Charlotte.
Please PM me! I am open to phone screens too.
And yes, I am networking and reaching back out to bankers I had previously met with for FT recruiting
