I've been "under consideration" since September for IB London/Spain

Hi guys,
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but it's my first time applying for the summer positions for IB in London & Madrid, and since I've done it a long time ago (aka September), I'm really confused about how much time I will need to wait to get an answer.
The only IB I heard of was CS, which I had a phone interview and I'm waiting on my status, nevertheless, UBS, JP, GS, BAML, Citi, Lazard, Roth... are still "under consideration" after having completed all the tasks they asked me to do (HireVue, tests or other similar stuff). (Note: GS is still screening my CV xd)
How long does it take to see a change in my application status?

Do you have any tips?

Thank you,
Ash

The process is going pretty fast, but keep preparing yourself as you may have a chance. Btw, what spanish uni do you attend? I may be able to give you some valuable infor about timelines

In any case, this also may help you: MS has already gone through ACs and the intern class is starting to get filled (they are doing 1st rounds every week with the remaining best candidates) BAML has already signed many interns in London (3 ACs already done) JP Morgan more of the same, already running fast UBS already had 2 ACs Citi not sure about ACs but friends have already had 1st rounds Lazard no idea Rotschild no idea

I'm really disappointed if that is the case because I think I have a really good CV and I did all the recommendations to be a "perfect candidate". Is all of this because I'm a non-target? I sent an email to HR in BAML and UBS and they told me they were still revising, so I guess I'm the one in the "waiting list". ffs Thanks for the info! I guess I'll just wait, but I didn't think of this process as that unfair as it seems now it is.

Could you please PM me and we can talk more deeply about the different processes? Thank you!

I'm sending you a message tomorrow, have no more PMs today, but yeah that's how it's going. In any case last year BAML ended up the recruiting process in late November.

I guess you are studying at Carlos III or Pompeu Fabra, but yep, the process is this way, targets do have a much easier path

What would yo like to know? And you are attempting spring weeks, summers, off-cycles or what?

Would like not to disclose it openly yet, but can tell you a little bit.

In my case timelines were really fast, submitted hirvues 4 weeks ago, got 1st rounds like 3 weeks ago, and in 2 days time got an answer, next day had 2nd round in one of these banks and in the others I directly went for ACs.

So just imagine how fast they went, this really depends on how they see you during 1st rounds and in your resume, so there is no strict timeline. Last year a friend of mine did 1st round and AC in 4 days time in late november and got the offer, so that shouldn't be an issue for Summer Internships. Nevertheless for Off-cycle ones, things are completely different, as banks can close their classes during the first 2-3 ACs (According to a friend of mine one of the BB has already closed it in 1 day, with just 2 ACs.

And don't worry for open slots if you are targeting for summer internships, if they think you are worth, you will get 1st rounds without any doubt, most BB have ACs till last week of november with some open slots. In any case be careful with the spanish headcount, as some banks have a number of spanish hires, and once they are done with it you will be over there.

Will try to PM you tomorrow with some more infor or when I can send them again
