job search responses

All applications should legally be required a one word response- either Successful or Unsuccessful. That’s it. No ‘we appreciate your interest’ ‘we will keep your details on file’ or even ‘congratulations’. just a single word response successful or unsuccessful. Other than the glaringly obvious hurt some candidates feelings reason why has this simple yet pragmatic way of response not been implemented in the job search world? Who cares if they let you down gently when the point is you are being rejected. tens of threads on this forum are ‘ do I have a chance’ ‘is this a rejection’ ‘will I hear back from them’ so maybe the more direct one word answer is better for ppls sanity.
