JPM and MS have cancelled their spring week programs in London due to coronavirus. Point72, BNP and Optiver have also cancelled their respective programs. Will summer interns be the next to get the chop?

I said it before and will say it again, banks take one step at the time. Exposing the floor to 50-100 people from outside for a 2-5 days program is just not worth it in terms of risk reward ratio especially so early.
I don't think that summer interns will be affected but this may change as time goes by.

Did they offer any alternatives, or anything?
Found out from friend who is doing Citi. They were told there would be "virtual insights", and opportunities to convert would be offered later in the year. So far GS/MS/JP/Citi/BNP have opted for virtual while BlackRock has postponed it for two weeks.
Family member of mine was made aware earlier today about Citi cancelling. Nothing communicated re: make up dates.
RBC, RBS, and Jefferies are postponing
