Large BDC Interview for VP role

I have an upcoming interview from a VP level role at large BDC later this week. Meeting with multiple folks.

Can anyone please advise on how I can best prepare for this? I am currently a PE associate and never interviewed for a VP role. What qualities might they be looking for? Any specfic technical expertise? (I have the basic technicals locked down).

Also, how will the case study be different from the associate level case study? Where would the focus be there?

Any help is highly appreciated.

At the VP level you'll be leading the deal execution process similar to PE (due diligence, memo writing, etc.) with a core primary responsibility being the negotiation of credit docs (if this is pure direct lending and not syndicated stuff). Case study will very likely be similar to PE associate case study, but you have to approach it from a credit perspective and not equity perspective (i.e. focus on downside vs. upside). My guess is that if you're interviewing for a VP role, you'll need to really highlight your ability to lead the evaluation of credits, create and execute on the due diligence path, and then execute on the legal aspect (doc negotiation, structuring, etc.)
