Level III Candidate CFA®

Hi all, I was wondering what types of roles a level III candidate could be in good running for. I currently work at a bank in back office finance and would like to move into a corporate banking/debt capital markets type role.

I don't want to disappoint you bro, but CFA L3 candidate hardly help you with your career. I've passed all three levels but don't feel substantial difference. The CFA designation is something to show that you are a hard working guy who didn't quit learning stuff, rather than that you are qualified for a specific type of job. What I'm saying is, don't count on your CFA designation, just network in the fields you'd like to move into and do your job.

Definitely agree. I've seen a lot of people take on the charter to try to propel them and its less of a game changer than an MBA and more of an 'icing on the cake' - and in Toronto, the requirement.

Just apply for those roles. The best way to qualify yourself is by actually doing the job.

A CFA with no debt capital markets experience will likely still lose to a non-CFA with the experience.

You'll be a long shot for any particular role, but apply (and network) for enough and you could find one team willing to give you a shot.
