Lloyd Blankfein Leaving Goldman Sachs
Earlier today, the WSJ broke the news that Lloyd Blankfein will be stepping down from his role as Goldman Sachs CEO at the end of the year. This will cap off a 12-year run for Blankfein, making him one of the longest serving bosses on Wall Street.
What are some thoughts on him resigning? Good? Bad? Could this end up hurting GS or could it turn out fine in the long-run? Names currently being thrown around to succeed him are the two co-presidents Harvey Schwartz and David Solomon. The likelihood it seems that they will step outside of these two men is unlikely, but who knows.
.
When you pair it with the information that he had cancer a couple of years ago and might want something else in his life then it's not too far of a stretch that both these things could happen at a similar time. That quote also came with the people that broke the news that he was stepping down as well.

More time to spend in his SEX DUNGEONS ...
Hopefully, the WSO @Lloyd BIankfein" will still grace us with his presence after the departure :)
Ayahuasca!
Hopefully it's not cause he was caught foolin around w an intern or something of the ilk.
They are going to make Schwartz and Solomon co-CEOs. To do anything else (i.e. make Cohn, Schwartz, or Solomon lone CEO) would make whoever is left in the COO position incompetent and he (or both) would surely quit quickly. Cohn would be the sensible choice but corporate politics will force the co-CEO promotion unfortunately.
