Long-term, concentrated firms that are open to PE laterals?

Hi guys:

I'm currently in PE at a Tier-2 shop, and interested in lateralling into a firm that practices long-term and concentrated investing. I've not met many people who have done this, and would really appreciate any advice!

What would be the best way to go about networking? Would the best "in" still be from headhunters? Personally, I'd love to go to a place that does both public and private (but is intellectually driven like a public-focused fund), or someone who's agnostic to capital structure. I'm not interested in short-term focused L/S or multi-manager shops...

If you guys could share a few names that you think practice these investment philosophies, that would be great!

Thanks!

Hudson Executive, Brahman Capital, The usual activist fund suspects (Starboard, etc). There are a ton of smaller funds who have a longer term strategy. However turnover is low so seats don’t open up regularly... tbh if you want to move to the public side quickly the path is usually to a bit of a higher turnover seat, then quick exit (1-2 years) to another platform
