Major? B.A Econ or B.A Social Sciences (Emphasis in Econ)

I'm already a Poli-Sci major, and looking to pick up a second major (one with actual value). Since career service advisors on campus are useless and Econ advisor told me it won't matter as they are both Econ degrees (which sounds like bull). Social Science will allow me to bring over Poli-Sci courses and allow inflation of my GPA with electives. With the Econ I will have to take a couple more math classes and have to take exact courses till graduation. Is going full Econ worth it?
