WOW. If you asked me at the beginning of the season if the Cubs would be here, I would have said no. Long way to go! Feels GREAT to be excited again about Cubs October Baseball. Regardless of the rest of what happens the rest of these playoffs, those rookies grinding out those tough playoff games against the Cardinal's this year is HUGE for their growth. I did not let up the entire game, I knew the cardinal's are dangerous. But Wow.
Will be interested to see who makes it through to play us. One game, one series at a time. I like the group of guys. We'll see what happens.
Nice to see them coming along finally. Personally hoping the mets, cubs, or royals win it.
You guys have some real stars in Arrieta, Bryant, and Rizzo. Would be nice to see them and the Astros in the World Series...talk about unpredictable.
That would be crazy, since still only a few years ago Astros were at the bottom of the NL central with us! Astros were pegged to being a few years away at the beginning of the year with slightly less upside than the Cubs, to have them square off would be crazy,
I'm a big fan of the Cubs' success. Bryant was so clutch for me this year in fantasy, plus it's fun to root for the underdog. I really want to see Mets vs. Cubs and Blue Jays vs. Astros. All four teams are exciting as hell to watch and all four are historically underdogs.
Now on the other hand, my Braves...
You had your 12 year run of division championships, then the cardinals have been perennial NLCS/WS contenders. I thought Heyward, and Piscotty were going to be our downfall!

would love to see cubs/mets then whoever comes out of AL don't really care (KC?!)... i had been rooting for the bluejays but that's not looking good
ps Arrieta was such a beast in a the wildcard game, he's going to take you to the 'ship like madbum did last year for the giants
I laughed at that picture when I saw it, too funny. I certainly hope so, Arrieta on a mission. I like how we are setup for next 5 years, regardless of this year's finish. Certainly different than 2003. Of course the NLDS game I went to was game one last Friday... Cardinal's fans are biting their tongues now!
i haven't followed you guys that closely but man if you're set up like that then it's guaranteed at least one championship. Unless the curse is for real........
I'm torn. as an O's fan, I'm disgusted we let Arrieta go. At the same time, I'd like to see the streak reversed.

I was never a Cubs fan despite living in Chicago for years, but I'm thrilled to see the Cubs finally win a playoff series at Wrigley. I so badly wish I were still living in Chicago, so I could be out celebrating. I'm sure it was crazy!
Having said that, I don't think the Cubs will win the NLCS.
I was at the wild card game, pretty nuts. Not sure if I'll make it to any more games, but would love to make it up to Wrigleyville for a couple of games.
Future is bright, everyone following the Cubs knew that, but they 1-2 years ahead of schedule IMO. I thought there was a small chance they would make the playoffs this year, maybe win 85ish games and have a quick exit from the playoffs (lol @ making the playoffs from the Central with around 85 wins). But damn!
I'm not a Cubs fan, but am happy to see them play well. I really do admire those fans who have stuck with the team for so long.
