Monitor Private Equity Team

Hi guys,

Has anyone ever heard of the Private Equity consulting Business Line of Monitor Deloitte, have heard that are growing like crazy and would like to know anything further about them. Would you kindly you share any thoughts on this business line?, Do you think they would have great exit ops to PE?, I'm interviewing with MD and the HR girl brought the topic up, but did not elaborate any further due to time constraints.

First, if PE is your goal, it's easier for you to get in through banking rather than consulting.

Regarding the "PE team", the way it works at MD is everyone is hired in as generalists. Your preferences will be taken into consideration when it comes to staffing but there is no actual PE team that you will be officially grouped under. Typically you might have a Partner in each office and a few other senior consultants that frequently work with PE firms but at the junior level you are not hired into a PE specific team.

Is for a Consultant (entry level) position, have experience in Strategy but does not qualify to be hired as experienced.

I said that my preferences were to be aligned with M&A consulting, she told me thereafter if I was interested in PE consulting (I did not know they were offering that service) and as I said due to time constraints she did not get deeper into it.

I've seen a kid through Linkedin that did not actually have PE consulting experience and got hired as an associate, he has done some M&A pitchs in another consultancy firm though.

Entry level role is business analyst, not consulting. At the consultant level, you are a generalist, not hired to a specific function. Are you sure this is Deloitte Consulting and not Deloitte Advisory? Is this US?
