They are a bit showy but 100% OK here in CA.
Check these out, some unique plays on oxfords, etc

Those are pretty nice. I've been mainly looking at Magnanni's which are a tad fashion forward, but they're awesome.
Here are the ones I'm thinking about right now http://www.magnanni.com/monk-straps/tegan-cuero
Yes.
I am not a huge fan of these personally, but I will say they are very popular here in Germany
I'm currently wearing something similar and yes no problem at the office. I wear brown shoes more frequently than black one..since I do not wear black suit that often..unless at black tie event.. else I usually wear gray or navy suits which I think looks better with brown/tan shoes.
Some advice I got is that brown dress shoes should not be worn with suits at formal investment banks. Fine for going out/clubbing, but not banking.
It's a stupid rule—but I've heard some people will judge you for wearing brown shoes in an interview. Not worth the risk.
I've actually had that happen to me at a super day - the interviewer took the time to look underneath the desk to see what color shoes I was wearing.
I've heard this same advice, yet I've met bankers that dress like they're editors at GQ (in a peacocking, flashy, unsubtle, and unprofessional way).
Meaning only wear black shoes?
Yeah
They're more for casual Fridays. Some of the older members wear black double monk straps, but I guess that's more subtle than a tan/brown monk strap.
I own a pair of black oxford double monks and like them a lot. They feel a bit showy in the beginning but after some wear and getting used to them they're great.
Next purchase will probably https://www.crockettandjones.com/lowndes-espresso-suede/</a">dark brown suede double monks.
Bump.
How do you guys feel about these? https://online.paulparkman.com/products/paul-parkman-mens-double-monkst…
They're extremely fashion forward, you think these are appropriate for the office?
