MSF for transfer into ER or AM?
I am a graduate of a top 10 public uni (UIUC, Purdue, Wisconsin) with a 3.95 UGPA in agricultural economics. My main focus as an undergrad was on econ theory and commodity markets. Currently, I have a merchant job with a large physical trading firm (think Cargill, Bunge, BP). I am currently not really as interested into physical commodity trading as I anticipated, and I find myself much more interested in global and financial markets. I am contemplating getting a MSF and trying to gain employment within ER or AM. Would an MSF be a good step in transitioning? If so, what would be the best programs to apply to? Also, note that I have worked in my current industry around half a year. Thanks!
You can do it and I've seen it happen a lot, but with your stats and experience I'd maybe do a level of two of the CFA and try and network your way in.
That was another idea I had that I will strongly consider. For just the sake of knowing, if I decide to go the MSF route, what programs would be best for my goals of ER or AM?
