Need advide to swith to ER

I graduated from MBA last year, before and after MBA, I worked both at Industrial companies. Engineering before MBA, business role after MBA. I am now considering to switch to equity research, but hardly have any finance related experience. If I am to applying now, any chance to get an interview? (I will take CFA, but it wil only happen in half year and doesn't help if I apply now, and CFA I dosn't speak much I think)

Any advice for me to make the switch?
Thank you!

You missed a huge opportunity to transfer into ER directly from your MBA.

This and also what Sovjet said.

Did you just now figure out that you want ER? If not, you really missed out on capitalizing on your b-school experience.

Hi, CFA is a must and can help get your foot in the door. Most of the analysts will need to see some interest in ER before interviewing you so you may even consider taking some modeling classes to be able to put them on resume.

The market is tight now and a lot of people are chasing few jobs, but nothing is impossible. If you have a good MBA and are applying for a relevant industry then you may get an interview. I would suggest reaching out to analysts through LinkedIn or getting their reports and emailing directly if you know they have openings.

Good luck!

Thank you all for the suggestion!!

What is so unforgivable about the writing?

If you can't write or you hate it, then don't even bother.
