Need help - accept offer or keep recruiting in spring?

Hey guys would like to hear some advice regarding my situation. I went through recruiting in the fall (at a solid semi target/target school), and unfortunately didn’t receive any SA offers in IB despite getting close at some places. The only offer I have is a Trading internship with a financial services firm in the Midwest. I don’t think this internship would really put me in a good position for FT IB recruiting, but it’s also the only offer in hand, and I only have until the new year to decide.

What are your thoughts on declining it and continuing to recruit in the spring for more banking related positions? Will there even be that many more opportunities available (and what might they be?) or should I just take the sure thing? Also my gpa dropped a little bit below 3.5 this semester so that’s another thing to keep in mind. I've thought about accepting the offer and then possibly reneging but there's a lot of risk involved in that and not sure that's the route I want to go down.
Any advice is appreciated!

Take what you can get and work hard. Although it might be something that you never anticipated, its still a good opportunity. At worst, you can spin your story for IB in the future. Life never goes as planned. If it did, I would still be an Engineering Major and wouldn't be on WSO gunning for an IB job.
