Need help with colleges
Hey, I am new to the forum and I need some help with picking out colleges. I'm a junior in high school and I'm very interested in pursuing an ibanking career. Right now, I have three schools that I'm definitely going to apply to. They are: U of Penn-Wharton, Columbia, and NYU. I need 3 or 4 other schools to apply to. I made a list with my guidance counselor. This is them: Boston College, Bucknell, Carnegie Mellon, Franklin & Marshall, Skidmore and then 3 very safe schools, which I'm not interested in: Gettysburg, Muhlenberg, and Villanova. What 3 or 4 schools would you choose of the one's I mentioned above and do you have any other schools that I might consider. I prefer schools in PA, NY, or the NE area due to financial reasons. Thank you!
Obviously, if you can get into Penn or Columbia go there. Otherwise, go to BC because the school is ridiculous. I certainly wouldn't consider BC a target for BBs but I do have plenty of friends from BC who got FT jobs at GS,MS, JPM, etc.

I'm not sure Skidmore is a good fit for anything other than pottery and women's studies.
to echo the first comment by honourable JBS, Columbia and Penn are both great options but BC should be your #1 runner up school. As a soldier of Jesus myself I may be biased, but do not dismiss the quality and depth of Jesuit education. I would consider BC a semi-target and with each year I think it's only getting better.

You might also take a look at Georgetown. That is one school that really offers it all, and there is tons of BB recruiting on campus, but also the opportunity to do plenty of other things if you determine that banking is not for you.

Enuf said. Kid, you'll have plenty of time to figure out what you wanna do with your life. I wonder how much you really know about investment banking to want to pursue it as a junior in high school...
