Networking Advice - coffee meetings

Hi fellow monkeys,

I am getting in touch with analysts/associates/VPs that are alumni of my school, with a pretty good response rate (I guess its due to the fact that networking isn't that common in the UK). Most of them offer to meet for a coffee although I am just asking for a call. I am living i London and my schedule is pretty empty, they always tell me 'let me know when would work the best for you' or something similar. Whats the best approach to not seem 'desperate' nor not being flexible on a date/time?

Thanks

This is just my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree but I think a dress shirt and pants is fine. It isn't an interview and because of that you want to be comfortable to have a good discussion with the person you are meeting with. As long as you appear presentable I don't think the analyst or associate you are meeting with is going to give two shits if you have a tie on or are wearing a jacket.

I just think about it in the reverse situation and if I was meeting someone because they asked to talk with me, the only time that I would be turned off by their appearance is if they look like they just rolled out of bed. They were presentable, even in business casual dress, I wouldn't think otherwise.

Again, just my opinion.
