Networking Sauce

Dear Lords of Financial Jewry,

I am a student currently attending a Large Non-Target Public University in the Midwest. I'm looking to get an IB internship next year. I'm a 3.93 GPA Finance Major (who cares?) in my 2nd year going into my 3rd year without any work experience in Finance. I'm largely considering the 5 year plan in regards to my undergrad. I do know from reading in the search function that it is considerably more difficult to break into IB from a non-target. Transferring to a Semi-Target is something I've considered but at this point I think it would only delay things.
.
I don't know who's dick I'm going to have to suck, but I know I am willing to suck hard in order to get what I want.

My questions though have little to do with my blowjob techniques, but I do however have a couple inquiries on the whole "networking thing". I know a few older gents who have participated in Investment Banking "activities" and I know I can get my hands on them. They were once close friends of my brother and 2 of them attended prestigious Ivy League schools. All of them however are no longer in Investment Banking? Would you suggest I ask my brother if I could get in contact with them?

It probably wouldn't lead to anything...right?
