New to WSO, Would like to Introduce myself and seek advice from some awesome fellow Monkeys!

Hello everyone! My name is Nick and I've just started here at WSO, and I'm very glad to be here! A little about myself: I'm from Springfield, MO and am attending a small liberal arts school here in town. I've always had a deeply rooted interest in the stock market and Wall Street in general. Working in finance is something that I've recently set my heart on doing. I would like to explain my plan for setting myself up to possibly work in alternative Asset Management and get your thoughts, tips, and opinions! So here we go:
I am 18 years old at the moment and am a Freshman at Drury University studying Finance, I also am currently enrolled in Financial Management Association. I know to work in this industry it is crucial to go to a school that is recruited at by large firms or boutique firms, or one that has strong alumni connections. My current plan is to attend Drury for 2 years, and transfer to a larger, possible target school in hopes of significantly increasing my chances in obtaining a job in the field. I currently have a 3.9 GPA in my college career, including transfer credits from high school and my current classes. I scored a 29 Composite on my ACT and a 31 on the Math sub-section. Next summer I will be attempting to get an internship at a small, start up hedge fund in Lebanon, MO called Evergreen Eagle Capital if anyone would care to look it up! So all in all, do you think if I aggressively network myself, and build my resume and maintain my current grades that I could get into any target schools and eventually end up scoring a job in IB/PE/ or an HF?
Oh! And the schools I am currently looking at are: SMU, UChicago, Northwestern, Indiana, Penn, Yale, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, Georgetown, Michigan, UTA, Pomana/Claremont.
So if theres anyway you guys can kind of process this and let me know what you think, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much!

First, be more anonymous. Don't use your name, your small college and the firm you're interning at. It's just much better to speak in generalities. "I currently attend a small LAC in the midwest", and "I'm going to interning at a start up L/S hedge fund with about $XMM under management."

Peruse this site for similar threads because most of this has been covered previously. You'll get a good answer to the basics of your questions then be able to ask more specific questions and get more helpful answers. I don't mean this in a demeaning way at all, you'll simply get more out of this site.

Good luck.

In terms of how good of a target the school is for Wall Street from best to worst, I'd say

Princeton Penn (Wharton or not?) Yale UChicago UMich NW GTown UVA CMU Pomona Indiana UTA

Before anybody throws monkey shit at me, I'm just going by my experiences having gone through the recruiting process and the alums I've met in banking both in person and through internet searches (linkedin).
