Next Steps for a 3.0 GPA Sophmore at a Semi-Target

**TL;DR
1. How do I approach networking with senior (VP and above) bankers? Do I just ask analysts if I can speak with their boss?
2. Should I drop a 3.0 GPA from my resume? What GPA do bankers assume a candidate without a GPA on their resume has? Does a double major/minor lower GPA expectations?
3. Will my leadership position in my school's investment club give me any extra attention?
4. What corporate internships will get the most attention on a resume? **

I'll get the obvious out of the way - I'm taking more hours next semester in easier classes to get my GPA up, but since Citi applications are due in February, and most other junior internship applications are due over the summer, it's going to take more than just doing better in school.

I've networked my ass off this past semester with alumni, family contacts, and cold emails. Until now, I've primarily networked with Associates/Analysts since I'm still learning the the fundamentals of networking. However, I've read online that the only way to get my resume through the GPA filter is with the blessing on an MD or higher, and as the application deadline draws closer I've decided it's time to raise the stakes and talk to the big boys. Is it poor etiquette to reach out to an analyst I've already networked with and ask to speak with their boss? Do you lot have any suggestions on how to cold email an MD?

My father is adamant that I drop my GPA from my resume. While he works with bankers frequently, every recruiter who's come to my school's campus has suggested it's career suicide to leave a GPA off a resume. From what I've read, a 3.0 is right on the cusp of no-GPA territory, so I'd love your guy's opinions on if I should just drop my GPA.

I've been promoted to the executive board for my school's investment club. We don't have a president, so this is the highest position possible. I've utilized DCFs, worked with my school's CFO, and taught freshman fundamental financial modeling and valuation skills. Will this promotion take some attention away from my GPA? Or is it expected of IB applicants to run these clubs.

What corporate internships will get the most attention on a resume? I think it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to land a financial services internship this summer, so I'd love your guys opinions on how best to stay in the fight.
