Non Target PE Analyst Recruiting
If I want to go to PE after undergrad is it best to do IB SA, network, and try to place full time? Or are there any places I would have a shot at for Jr year internship (SA 2021)?

Career Resources
bump. I do know that I see a couple kids go to SA from my non target at megafund PE firms every year
Do both. For Junior SA it’s ALWAYS better to have the best possible banking offer for junior summer in hand and try to use that to get spots in my opinion because it’s the easiest way to self qualify. Something i realized after the fact, even though it worked out OK for me. If things don’t work out you have a banking offer to fall back on (wow life sucks if this is the case huh, sarcasm) and if it works out things are easier cause you have self qualified
For FT, of course it’s easier the better SA you have but I personally am not sure how to filter down so many good candidates lol.
Junior SA its just hard because there are just too few spots, and the version of you that’s smart and competent can exist with the target brand stamp. That said, tons of places you should still go for- doing it with a top SA offer in hand is going to make it much better though.
It’s the same thing with target school focused recruiting, the degree people self qualify tbh but better with an SA offer cause that’s more relevant. Good luck man!
