Odd Rejection Letter

Recently interviewed for a job (final round), but got dinged through email. For the most part the email seemed like a pretty standard rejection letter -

"...However, we were impressed with many aspects of your background, and we think that you would be a great addition to [company] down the road. I would like to keep you in mind for future positions with [company]."

- but the "addition to [company] down the road" part threw me off. I think it is just giving me false hope, but is this just part of the standard form rejection letter or is it legitimately odd?

HR is just pussin' out, afraid they will hurt your feelings. Typical unnecessary miscommunication.

I'd probably just show up with a suit, briefcase in hand, and ask them which deal you should work on.

I believe it worked for George Costanza once.

Also worked for Kramer.
