Official Transcript has a lower GPA than resume (by 1 point), will my offer get rescinded?
Hi everyone, I fucked up. I signed an entry-level job offer as an analyst 2 mo. ago which stated "is contingent on completion of degree program." I didn't think about the GPA on my resume. Since then, they have paid for my hotels and flights for orientation next week and have made business cards too, introduced me to my mentor...etc. They told me they needed my language skills for a project as soon as I start. Well now they want all the new hires' official transcript. My GPA is a whole 1 point lower than my resume GPA (I just wanted interviews.) I was hired mostly based on my experience founding a startup and my school name. I mentioned to the CFO I was gonna quit school before we got acquired. I can explain the GPA but I fucked up in not updating my resume. I could doctor the document to match my resume GPA but don't want to fear this for the rest of my time there. I know I'd make a great addition to the team but I have a lot riding on this. What are my chances on getting my offer rescinded once they get my official transcript? If you could doctor the document to look identical would you? They are not a huge firm but very tech-savvy and a very laid-back culture. However, I wouldn't put it past them to run authorizations.
