Overly Aggressive after interview?

Just wondering what your guys' experiences has been after interviews. Are you more successful in getting offers when you keep in touch with the interviewer throughout the process afterwards or kind of just forget about them. This doesn't have to be ibanking as well.

Also how does I have an offer that will expire in a week affect the decision. I know that in banking, ppl want you more, but what about in other companies? If they haven't interviewed everyone yet, wouldn't you have to really shine to get the offer.

I wouldn't say I have too much experience with this but I would always write a really solid thank you to each person that interviewed you when you get home or the next day. Try to remember something unique that you discussed with each person and relate it to how you are the person for the job. After that I would only follow up if they don't contact you after they said they would. Call them and say something like "I was wondering what the status is of the position?" Then if they say they are still working on it just reiterate that you just wanted to tell them you are still interested. If they say that it has been filled then fuck em and move on.

Most of the work you can do to help yourself is being proactive and developing a relationship BEFORE the interview. Afterward, just send a thank you (some places do keep track of who does) and sit back and wait. You may follow up politely once if the deadline they gave you passes.

Does it seem desperate to reiterate that you're interested. I've had times where I said I'm interested and ultimately I didn't get the offer. There were also times where I was simply them after the interview and ulitmately got the offer.
