PE Junior Analyst vs. IBanking Analyst
Investment Banking Analysts,
I took a job with a Healthcare PE shop right out of college. I originally wanted to do IB for the analyst program, but PE seemed more challenging. At this job, I manage a few processes' such as new inquiries that come in, tons of pitchbooks, working group lists for transactions, and maintaining tabs on a ton of documents (NDA's, MOU's, APA's, etc). I am usually out of the office by 11PM during the week.
How does this compare with you i-banking analysts? I understand that analysts support the MD's in capital raises and advisory services. What types of demands do individual deals have and what are you accountable for? Do you have the opportunities to work directly with clients?
I am trying to understand how the work varies and where I would like to go in the coming months,
.
I wish it was

I don't really manage anything. I should be. My organization level depends on how many files my 3 desktop screens can fit.
I just work on models, pitches, cims on a deal by deal basis. If I get asked to recall a model, i dig into my email. I 3rd wheel calls with clients but never have the opportunity to speak up (thank goodness). Every single work product I complete is sent to the associate to double check (can't trust a monkey)
Im in by 9am and out by 11pmish as well. One all nighter every other week.
